
N.J. has 9 counties in the top 150 for home values
According to a recently published Zillow report, as of September 2023, 9 New Jersey counties out of 21 garnered placement on the list of the top 150 most expensive for typical home values in the U.S.
Heading the list of pricey counties was Cape May County coming in at 61. Next was Monmouth County, which ranked at 70; Bergen County ranked at 75 and Morris County at 91. Each of these counties reported home values over $600k.
Zillow reported that statewide, New Jersey’s typical home value was $494,792 in September, up 6.19% from 2022. This compares with the national typical home value of $348,539, according to the report.
Nantucket County, Massachusetts; Teton County, Wyoming and Pitkin County, Colorado were the top 3 counties in the country, all of which had a typical home value over $2 million.
