Walmart Cuts 481 Corporate Positions in Hoboken

Walmart is eliminating 481 corporate positions at its Hoboken location as part of a relocation initiative. Affected employees have the option to retain their positions if willing to relocate to Bentonville, Arkansas, where Walmart has established a new 350-acre “Home Office” campus featuring 2.4 million square feet of office space.
This move follows Walmart’s closure of two South Jersey fulfillment centers last year—one in Swedesboro that employed 113 workers and another in Oldmans Township with 270 positions.
Novartis Reducing 427 Jobs at East Hanover Site

Pharmaceutical giant Novartis plans to eliminate 427 U.S. jobs reporting to its East Hanover location. The reductions will be implemented in phases between June and late October 2025.
These cuts come on the heels of previous layoffs announced in November 2024, when Novartis disclosed plans to eliminate 139 positions (86 and 53 in separate announcements) on a rolling basis.
