This is only a slight increase from June, when the median time on the market was 31 days. The county also saw a significant influx of new listings, with 852 homes hitting the market—a 15.8% increase from the 736 new listings in July 2023.

Median home prices, as reported by Realtor.com, provide a snapshot of the market, but it’s important to note that these figures might not reflect the entire market. They typically include single-family homes, condominiums, and townhomes, while excluding most new constructions, as well as pending and contingent sales.

Across the broader New York-Newark-Jersey City metro area, the median home price dropped slightly to $777,000. The typical home in this area offered 1,572 square feet of space, translating to a list price of $534 per square foot.

In New Jersey as a whole, the median home price remained steady at $599,000 from June to July. The average New Jersey home listed for sale in July had 1,762 square feet, with a price of $310 per square foot.
