Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 29, 2023, and Counsellors Title Agency will be closed on that Monday, reopening on Tuesday, May 30th at 8:30am.

This holiday has been identified as the weekend marking the beginning of summer. The weekend is also traditionally a time for parades, flags, and wreath-laying ceremonies paying tribute the who died serving our country.

Memorial Day is also the unofficial beginning of summer in New Jersey with the Jersey Shore beach communities coming alive with activities.

Many of these activities include music festivals, ethnic festivals, fireworks, auto racing events and special events geared to the celebration of summer. Here are some of the events:

Bradley Beach Memorial Day Weekend Festival
Saturday & Sunday, May 27, 28, 29, 2023; from 9am-7pm on the Bradley Beach Boardwalk
The festival includes crafters, food, live music, and Family Fun.

Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival

This event features Food Trucks, Live music 12-4pm all three days on two stages. Saturday music by Kickin Nash. FREE Family Fun Day events – including clowns, face painters, pony rides and a bounce house, will take place from 12-4pm in the picnic area on Saturday and Sunday — and horse racing.

Avalon Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 29th, 2023: 9am – 10:30am
The parade will start at 32nd Street and Dune Drive and proceed north to Veterans Plaza where the ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the parade.

Cape May Memorial Day Ceremony

The City of Cape May, in conjunction with the American Legion Post 193 and VFW Post 386, will conduct a Memorial Day Ceremony to honor our fallen heroes. The Remembrance will take place at Soldiers and Sailors Park, located at Gurney Street and Columbia Avenue in Cape May. Immediately following the ceremony in the park, at approximately Noon, the United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May detachments will participate with Flotilla 82 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in presenting the Rifle Salute and launching of the flower boat from Gurney Street Beach.
