Great Towns of Monmouth County, New Jersey
#1 Little Silver – The original farms and nurseries have almost all been replaced by housing today. Little Silver’s location on the Shrewsbury River makes it a popular destination for boaters and water sports enthusiasts, with a public boat ramp at the Dominick F. Santelle Park off Riverview Avenue. Approximately 8% of the homes are directly on the Shrewsbury River and another third of homes are on streams that connect to it.
#2 Fair Haven – Fair Haven is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, along the Navesink River and is part of the New York Metropolitan Area. Fair Haven is located on the Rumson peninsula and is bordered by Red Bank and Little Silver to the west. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough’s population was 6,121 and in 2020 the Census reported a loss in population to 5,833.
#3 Holmdel – Holmdel Township is a township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The township is centrally located in the Raritan Valley region, being within the regional and cultural influence of the Raritan Bayshore. It is located in the New York Metropolitan Area and is a major bedroom community of New York City. It’s population increased in 2020 from 2010 to 17,400 from 16,773.
#4 Rumson – Rumson is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, and is part of the New York Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 census, the borough’s population was 7,122, and fell in 2020 to 6,757.
#5 Manasquan – The borough’s name is of Lenape Native American origin, deriving from “Mënàskunk” meaning “Place to Gather Grass or Reeds”. New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Manasquan as its 22nd best place to live in its 2008 rankings of the “Best Places To Live” in New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough’s population was 5,897, as compared to the 2022 population of 5,710.
