New Jersey statistics on those patients contracting the coronavirus reflect a majority of coronavirus deaths in the state taking place at long-term care facilities. 
This anomaly appears to be even more prevalent in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
As of May 11th, the number of individuals succumbing to the coronavirus in Monmouth County totaled 466. The number of patients who have died from coronavirus in the county at long-term care facilities totaled 342, a 73% rate.
The statistics for New Jersey also track similarly that of the approximately 9,500 total deaths have been reported in the state; over 5,000 of those are represented by those who are in long-term care facilities.
There have been nearly 26,000 coronavirus cases reported at the state’s long-term care facilities.
New Jersey government officials finally responded, requiring that all long-term care facilities test staff and residents for the virus by May 26th, which gives the facilities two weeks to conduct these tests. In the meantime the patients at long-term care facilities appear to be targets for this heinous disease.
