According to Case-Shiller, national home prices grew by 3.7% year-to-year in March. 
Some housing experts consider the easing of the trajectory in the prices of houses as somewhat of a slowdown. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. The economic strength over the last 18 months continues to give consumers an optimistic view.
This measured growth continues to give confidence in the current overall health of the housing and construction industry without the overarching fears that it could become overheated anytime soon.
The ratios of household debt service to income do not expose any conspicuous problems moving forward. Consumer sentiment continues to be very upbeat with housing prices rising at a measured rate of growth.
The S&P 10-City Composite continues to stay within a 2% range, where it grew 2.3% on an annual basis versus 2.5% from February 2018.
Of the metro regions, Las Vegas, Tampa, Florida, and Phoenix all posted the biggest gains.
